Surviving the drive back to Portland, I finally make it home. I walk in, set my bag down, say ' hello couch!' and do a dive 'n flop onto the welcoming cushions I've been oh so familiar with for over a year now. I immediately diverge into my normal computer surfing routine and take a quick nap, exhausted from the drive. Two and some hours later I finally peel myself up, destined to take a shower ALL the way upstairs. Slinking up the last step I'm weirded out with the fact that the door is shut tight, finally noticing a label that read "Danielle's Room". My eyebrows reinforcing my confused eyes, slowly twist the door handle clockwise. Giving the slightest push, causing the door to creakily open, as if to give a chance for something to jump out at me. Instead my eyes were met with a bed, papasan chair, and t.v. set up. Clothes hung up in the closet and everything! Whoa! Its like stepping into alternate reality. A concept so distant for so long was greeted by overwhelm. Surely, I was experiencing a cold case of ID theft! No, no. I was quickly reassured this is my new spot. Whoa!
Waking up to only the morning sun. Not to roommates getting ready for work or dishes clanking, or the feeling of another presence just sitting in the same room. No clothes draped out of a packed suitcase losing track if they are even dirty or clean. Double Whoa!
First: awkward and uncomfortable
Second: used it
Third: never left!
Interesting timing as I had just announced that I was going to be Kat's roommate in her car as soon as she moved back to pdx. Hmmm... Muh! I gotta room, I gotta room, I gotta room, hey hey hey HEY!
