This is the opening to a documentary I watched the other day with a friend at laurelhurst. It pretty much leads you full circle through the range of all human emotions. Taking an 'Ethics of Eating' course in college I have a good idea of the arguments proposed by reading books now popular such as 'The Omnivore's Dilemma' by Michael Pollan. However; it does not compare to vile images consumed through the visionary elements of hidden cameras in factories and with the intense undertone of the narrator complimented to creepy haunted house music.

All production aside, they make good points. Reading a book is one thing, but to see with your own eyes the insides of the factories it is extremely intense. After the publishing of 'The Jungle', Roosevelt even provided stricter laws, creating better working conditions making the beef factory one of the best industry positions and now it is one of the most dangerous. Positions that most American's don't even work, but leaving the majority for illegal immigrants. I thought working in a pizza pocket factory sucked, I couldn't imagine working in a meat factory.

The documentary is very raw and willing to show everything, but I think its a good one to watch. While they pull the dramatic card in some areas it still gives good awareness to the changes that we can make to lead healthier, longer lives. Its definitely worth checking out, but because I could talk an hour on it, I will stop at this.

and then I went and ate mcdonalds...lol j/k
