Meeting a couple of coworkers at the store, we piled into Mike's car. Changing the voice that announced the directions on his GPS, Dr. Nightmare guided the way to the corn maze. His creepy voice set the tone, as he led us through the windy back roads to Sauvie Island after sundown. The first maze (the Trail Blazers Logo), was a giant mud pool. Wading through the maze, dodging highschoolers, and taking the outside of all corners led to intricate balancing tactics. Nicole was demoted of the leadership role after leading us to the entrance 3 times! It was a lot fun winding through the routes solving the "cornundrums" and trudging the maze.

Next we jumped in line for the "Field of Screams" maze. The hour long line led to some intense Mike & Nicole time, but we managed through with the help of the "cornologist" and other characters as they stopped and talked to us for a bit. Cautiously stepping into the maze I strategically placed myself between Mike and Nicole, which did not last long as both Nicole and I were wimps hop-skipping everywhere! Approaching a set up on the left would SLAM! with a prop jolting the body to the right of the narrow path, putting you face to face with a live person lurking in the corn only to jump out, freaking the BEJEEZIES out of your already goosebumped self. The double edged sword, is that if you react, they know you're the wuss of the group and then single you out further. It wasn't until the creepy lady not only startled us but then ran up to me GROWLING that I almost peed my pants laughing within my creeped out-ness! Using the port-o-potties before the maze= good choice! Timing is impecable. Nicole had just explained her hate for clowns when one had jumped out honking out of the corn. A quick moment had passed, thinking that he had retreated into his hiding spot she said "come on this way" and turned and walked to check out the path. IMMEDIATELY the clown went crazy stealth and followed right behind her. Mike and I standing at a bit of a distance away, began to bust up laughing foreseeing the situation. As predicted, once she noticed it was a dead end, she turned talking to "us" to become face-to-face with the clown, resulting in a freaked-out laughter while yelling at us! Oh man, to this day that ninja clown's stealth move in conjunction with Nicole's reaction, still makes me crack up hysterically!!
