...Weekend Bender
Literally.

"Drive Safe" I say to the remaining family members as I head out to the pick up to head back to Portland and meet up with the cousins.

*SCrrrrrreEEEEeeeeeCH* *BAM*

Uhhhhg...

Gulping nonexistant saliva, riding a sense of disbelief, and overwhelmed by confusion with nervous chaos pitted in my stomach, I pull to the curb.

I was not speeding, playing with my phone, coming home from the bar, had music blaring, just the simple element of confusion in a foreign environment. Although, no excuse for justification can change the realization of this outcome.

Driving back to Clyde and Carols to a vast audience the only words I could uproot from the bottom of my stomach were, "If only I had a harmonica to sing the blues for situations like this" as I pulled one out from my pocket and began to hum some bars.

Despite a low point in my day I still had a great time seeing everyone and glad I made the trek.
Next year, lets carpool!
